The original function of this breed was to bait bulls and other animals. The whole body structure is designed to perform this task. This breed represents maximum power in a minimal volume, and the focal point of its energy is the dog’s head. The skull of this breed should be very large, broad and massive, with prominent cheeks, where the jaws get the power to grip. The skull must be very heavy, with a very short muzzle, large skin folds and small widely set eyes. The eyes are dark; blue eyes are not permissible.
